Award Winning Work

Winter 2003 Newsletter in Adobe PDF format Wachtel wins a National Arborist Association Excellence in Arboriculture Grand Award.

Excellence is the lifeblood of any profession. In the commercial arboriculture profession, exemplary customer service and unwavering dedication to high-quality tree maintenance define excellence.

Wachtel distinguished itself in the fall of 2002 by being one of 16 winners worldwide of the 2002 Excellence in Arboriculture Award. We won a Grand Award (one of only four in the 16) for a project at Gray’s Child Development Center.

The goal of the project was to improve the health, beauty, and usefulness of the 60- to 80-year-old trees on the site. Students and visitors can now enjoy a park-like setting in an otherwise very urban area. Over a 12-month period, Wachtel provided periodic monitoring visits, fertilization, mulching and pruning to improve health and to remove hazards.

Now in its eighth year, the National Arborist Association Excellence in Arboriculture program recognizes and celebrates commercial arborist firms that have demonstrated excellence in their work.
