Summer 2010 News in Adobe PDF format We continue to grow

Over the last two years, we have been very lucky to bring in numerous summer interns. Their enthusiasm and questions always keep us on our toes! Two of them graduated this May from UW-Stevens Point and they both picked Wachtel as the place to start their careers. We are lucky to have both Ryan Rodefer and Nathan Schuettpelz added to our staff. Nathan is starting out working on a GIS street tree inventory for Franklin and Ryan is learning the ropes (literally) of working on a tree pruning crew. Picture of Nathan & Ryan if there is room?

Training is a constant

As a staff, we put in thousands of hours each year with weekly safety meetings, workshops and seminars at state and national meetings. This training varies from international experts to feedback from fellow employees (some of the most valuable). We even have two specialists on staff (Certified Tree Care Safety Professional, CTSP) to lead our training. The majority of the skills training they receive is in teaching techniques. Communication is always critical.
