Wachtel Becomes an Accredited Company

Summer 2005 News in Adobe PDF format Wachtel Tree Science & Service becomes one of the first tree care companies in the U.S. to become accredited by the Tree Care Industry Association.

Wachtel Tree Science & Service, Inc. has another accomplishment. We are among the first tree care companies in the U.S. to be accredited under the Tree Care Company Accreditation program administered by the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA). As of March 15, there are only seventeen tree care companies in the U.S. that have gained this distinction. This program is designed to raise the standards and quality of tree care companies throughout the U.S. and is built on the threefold foundation of ethics, quality, and consumer confidence. We are proud to be one of the first to achieve this high standard.

The program represents the only business practices and compliance audit process in the tree care industry. Under this process, businesses undergo extensive review of professional practices aimed at safeguarding consumers. The review includes:

  • best business practices
  • ethical business conduct
  • formal training and certification of employees
  • compliance with OSHA, ANSI and industry standards
  • consumer satisfaction
  • adherence to safety standards
  • insurance coverage
  • OSHA and DOT regulatory compliance

TCIA accreditation means Wachtel Tree Science & Service, Inc. has undergone a rigorous application and review process. TCIA verified this by conducting an on-site audit of our facility and work sites.

The TCIA Accreditation for Wachtel is in effect for a period of three years, with renewal checkups required every year. The company is re-accredited every three years.

According to TCIA president Cynthia Mills, “TCIA Accreditation provides consumers a way to find tree care companies that are trustworthy in their business and tree care practices. Our TCIA Accreditation program is the only one of its kind in America. Wachtel Tree Science & Service, Inc. has made a commitment to excellence in all facets of its business. I applaud their efforts.”

While the process of Accreditation has been no easy task (over 100 hours of staff time), it has helped us to tighten internal systems and critically review and update all of our policies and procedures.

We are pleased to have achieved this high standard and to be recognized as one of the best tree care companies in America. This incredibly thorough process will help us to provide even better service to you, our clients.
