For the second consecutive year, Wachtel volunteers spent a Saturday caring for the trees at the Milwaukee Ronald McDonald House (RMH). The Milwaukee RMH was established in 1974 to provide families a place to stay when children are being treated for a serious aliment. Our own Gary Stanwood has benefited from the RMH house when his daughter Ruth received treatments a number of years ago.
This past fall, crews worked in the main parking lot where trees were pruned and cabled to improve appearance and safety for residents. An ornamental flowering pear tree, donated by Johnson’s Nursery, was also planted at the main entrance.
All of us here at Wachtel Tree Science and Service look forward to the 2009 Day of Service at the Ronald McDonald House this fall.
