New life for old wood:

This winter a call went out to arborists across the state from the Forest Products Lab in Madison. They have a project where they want to use reclaimed urban wood to make furniture for the office of the US Forest Service Chief. We were selected to donate numerous logs to the lab. They are looking at also using some wood from the USS Constitution and the tree that inspired Joyce Kilmer’s poem, Trees, in the construction

Summer work:

The City of Madison has asked Wachtel to finish the GIS inventory of over half of the city this summer. Due to the threat of emerald ash borer, the city is speeding up this project so it can properly plan for this significant urban pest. The skills we gain through projects like this allow us to do a better job caring for your trees.
