Plotting Your Trees

We have been performing public tree inventories for municipalities across southern Wisconsin for the last 14 years. Our comprehensive public tree inventories are collected utilizing geographic information systems (GIS). Recently there have been significant advancements in technology that have allowed GIS-based tree inventories to evolve into the world of web-based mobile applications; this application is called TreePlotter. Wachtel Tree Science is committed to utilizing the most advanced tools and technology available on the market. By implementing TreePlotter into our operations, we now have the capability to conduct small scale tree inventories on residential or commercial properties.

The management of trees is important to you as the property owner. A TreePlotter inventory of your property will provide you with a record of every tree within your care and records of past maintenance activities. An excellent function of Tree Plotter is reporting the environmental and economic benefits that trees provide on your property. The user friendly mapping application is easy to navigate and will be available to you from your desktop, laptop, or mobile device.

Are you on the board of your Homeowner’s Association and responsible for the care of trees on multiple properties across your community? Allow a TreePlotter inventory to simplify your life by combining multiple tree maintenance programs into one application. The mapping tool within TreePlotter allows for simple map printing. These easy-to-read maps are used as tools of communication between you and the residents in your community. Printed maps are excellent to use in sit down meetings but what about when you are touring multiple properties in the field? Access your TreePlotter inventory on a mobile device in the field and you will have access to live, up-to-date information of the trees that have been enrolled into your maintenance program.

Tree inventories are a versatile tool in the management and maintenance of trees. Accurate record keeping influences key decisions and the direction of future management activities. Above all, a tree inventory will serve as an invaluable tool of communication between you and your Arborist. Contact your Certified Arborist at Wachtel Tree Science today to learn more on how a TreePlotter inventory can help you achieve your goals.
