Title: Diagnostic Arborist

Certification: Board Certified Master Arborist

Certification #: WI-0102B

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor’s Degree in Forest Science. I am a Board Certified Master Arborist and hold the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ). I am a member of the International Society of Arboriculture, the Tree Care Industry Association, the American Society of Consulting Arborists, and the Wisconsin Arboriculture Association where I have served on the Board of Directors for several years. My tree care projects have won two Excellence in Arboriculture Grand Awards and an Award of Distinction. My experience in the diagnosis, treatment and maintenance of tree and shrub problems spans over three decades.

When I was growing up, I loved hunting, camping and fishing with my dad, and I wondered how I could combine my love of the outdoors with a profession. When I built a rugged tree house in an old hawthorn with my friends, my appreciation of nature grew into an appreciation of trees. Now, one of the favorite parts of my job is seeing trees that were once sick and are now healthy, especially when my clients notice the changes! My favorite tree is the Beech because of its great strength, yet having an aristocratic flair.

Many tree care problems can only be resolved or successfully managed if one is proactive and incorporating a holistic approach. I often prescribe a program that helps to incorporate these elements so that trees are healthy and able to defend against insects, diseases and adverse conditions.
