Title: Executive Vice President

Certification: Certified Arborist

Certification #: WI-0610A

My love for Urban Forestry all began in high school with a teacher who expressed their passion for trees and the importance they had in our world.  It didn’t take much for me to share that passion as well.  I embraced my time at UW – Stevens Point to fuel that passion and learn as much as I could about the industry and all the possibilities it could offer in the green industry.  In only a few short years, I gained my base of knowledge relating to Urban Forestry, Forestry Management, and Soils Sciences.  After graduation, I started my career here at Wachtel Tree Science!  I was hired in January of 2003, as an Arborist Trainee.  I am proud to say since then I have honed my arboricultural skills with the company and have been able to develop other members of the team around me.  During my career, I have become credentialed as an ISA Certified Arborist and a Certified Tree Safety Professional.  I have taken on the duties within the company as Safety Coordinator, Trainer, Sales Arborist, and now one of the Owners.  Not too many people can say that they have been with one company their whole career, but when you are a part of something great, you don’t leave!

I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin where I found my love for trees.  When I decided to go to UW – Stevens Point for Urban Forestry, I was the first in my family to go to college.  While at school I met my now wife, Christee, getting married in 2003. We both looked to southeastern Wisconsin to start our careers.  Christee graduated with a Wildlife major and with my Urban Forestry major, we were no doubt a perfect match. We are now proud parents of two girls.  As a family we continue to learn and grow together in faith and spend time with some of our favorite things, watching movies and going to estate sales looking for treasures.

My approach to tree care entails listening to the needs and goals of my clients.  I look to use the science, best practices, and art of tree care to create a plan to achieve their goals and expectations.
