I always wanted to do something with nature, just wasn’t sure as to what may become. I originally wanted to be an ornithologist, though that didn’t pan out. Even still, I continue to love birding and ‘nerding out’ about bird species. I have worked for Riveredge Nature Center as a groundskeeper and an assistant for their permaculture farm. I truly loved it but needed to move on since it was a seasonal position. I graduated from UW-Milwaukee obtaining my Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation and Environmental Science. During my time on breaks from college, I volunteered at OWLT (Ozaukee Washington Land Trust) in West Bend doing invasive species removal. After those experiences, I joined Wachtel Tree Science because the company values aligned with mine regarding tree preservation and science-based work. I started in arboriculture at Wachtel Tree Science and continue to grow and develop my tree knowledge each day. My duties and experience have propelled me from a crew member to a Crew Leader position in our Tree and Landscape Department and have been a key part of the Plant Health Care Department. I’ve gained my ISA Certified Arborist credential while at Wachtel Tree Science and am excited to move into the next chapter of my career with this amazing company as a Client Service Representative.
Outside of work, I enjoy being a houseplant connoisseur (even though they don’t always like me back 😊). I love advocating native plant landscaping in urban and natural areas wherever I can. I have big dreams to have my own mini farm someday. Beyond that, I also like hiking, crafting, and cruising on my motorcycle.
As a woman in arboriculture, I value communication between clients and their tree needs. I want to make sure we do the best work for our clients that’s both professional and scientifically ethical. I love it when clients are happy with my work and I enjoy going above and beyond for them.
