I have an Associate’s Degree in Nursery and Landscape Management from Gateway Technical College. While in this program, I worked for the Village of Pleasant Prairie’s Parks and Recreation Department, primarily maintaining athletic fields and general landscaping around their facilities. After graduating, I began my career with Wachtel Tree Science and for over 9 years have invested in my tree knowledge and understanding. Wachtel Tree Science sponsored me in the Wisconsin Arborist Apprenticeship program, becoming the first ever graduating cohort to complete this first of its kind training. By completing this program, I was one of the first Arborist Journey workers in the tree care industry!
My interest in trees and nature started when I was young. My parents had a small vegetable garden which I would help plant, maintain, and enjoy the fruits of that labor. Our family enjoyed being outdoors going camping, hunting, and fishing together, which we continue to this day. In addition to those fun activities, I also enjoy playing disc golf, spending time with my wife and children, and checking off projects from the honey-to-do list.
I approach tree maintenance with both client needs and tree’s health in mind. I like how the following quote sums up the focus on trees: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – The Lorax
